Photography

James Smith,
Course Leader

Students on the BA (Hons) Photography Course at Norwich develop their own unique approach and vision, making work about the things they are passionate about. They engage with a range of practitioners from within photography and the wider creative industries and identify the roles and opportunities most relevant to them.

Career potential

Graduates may progress to be photographers working within commercial and fine art settings. They may also fill other roles within the photographic and creative industries including photographic assistant, retoucher, picture editor, photographic producer, art buyer, photographic agent, CGI artist, curator and art director.

Engaging with
practitioners

This year we have been fortunate to engage with a range of practitioners who have supported students in achieving their aspirations through guest talks, practical workshops, studio visits and industry critiques.

Trips and
critiques

Our students have had the opportunity during the year to take part in a number of trips, including visits to the Photographers Gallery, Tim Flach’s Studio and Dean Chalkley’s Exhibition. Year 3 students took part in an industry critique with 10 practitioners at the Tileyard Studios, London.
